Xiaomi Redmi 9: Released in Early 2020

The Xiaomi Redmi 9 is already starting to reveal itself. A few months before the release, a leak came to lift the veil on part of the technical sheet of the mid-range smartphone. Here is the first information available on the web.

This December 18, 2019, the Indian site 91Mobiles put online several information concerning the Xiaomi Redmi 9, the successor to the Redmi 8 unveiled in October and the Redmi 7 announced in March . As you would expect, the Chinese brand will continue to market two Redmi models each year to compete with competitors like Realme or Samsung and its Galaxy A.

Mediatek SoC Helio G70 and 4 GB RAM

Citing “industry sources” , the site claims that the smartphone is equipped with Mediatek’s SoC Helio G70 coupled with only 4 GB of RAM. The processor is reserved for mid-range phones and is part of the Helio G range, announced a few months ago. Besides, the Redmi 9 would be equipped with 64 GB of internal storage (like the Redmi 8). Xiaomi has obviously decided to ignore Qualcomm’s chips. As a reminder, the Redmi 8 was indeed powered by the SoC Snapdragon 439.

On the front, we should find a 6.6 inch screen surmounted by a notch, probably in the shape of a drop of water. This was already the case with the Redmi 8 and Redmi 7. Besides, we can expect to find an impressive battery, a fast recharge of minimum 18W and a rear camera made up of several modules.

Unsurprisingly, the phone will be offered at a bargain price . The Redmi 8 was also sold at a price of 169.90 euros. According to 91Mobiles, Xiaomi will present the Redmi 9 at a conference in China during the first quarter of 2020. In view of the habits of the brand, we can expect a presentation around March 2020. We tell you more as soon as possible.
