Waze Finally Shows The Way On Multi Lane Roads, Such As Google Maps

Posted on

Waze now shows the way on roads with multiple lanes. The beta version of the application displays arrows at the top of the interface to guide drivers on their route.

With this new option, still under development, Waze is finally getting ready to catch up with its rivals and Google Maps.

The display of lanes on roads with several exits finally landed on Waze, reported our Israeli colleagues from GeekTime. Like Google Maps or Apple’s Maps, the navigation application will tell users which lane they should take.

For now, this feature has only appeared in the beta of the navigation application. It has been spotted by several users from a handful of different countries, including Israel and Hungary.

Waze Gets Another Feature From Google Maps

This feature displays a series of arrows at the top of your smartphone screen. Each arrow represents a possible exit. The path you need to take is highlighted to avoid misunderstandings.

Signals will only appear when you are about 500 m from the lane if you are driving on a conventional road. On motorways, the arrows will appear about 1km before the exit to give users more time.

So Waze is getting ready to catch up on Google Maps and other GPS applications. However, for several years now, users of the application have been asking developers to add lane displays.

Until now, Waze has always preferred to rely on voice control, fearing that visual captions on the application would distract drivers. Looks like Waze has finally changed his mind.

At this time, it is unclear when this feature will be available to all users. We’ll let you know more as soon as we can.

While waiting for more information, don’t hesitate to give your opinion on Waze in the comments below.
