Tesla could launch a Model 3 equipped with a 100 kWh battery, reveals a leak. The automaker would also consider integrating the Ludicrous mode, intended to boost engine performance, in this variant. We take stock of what’s new in Elon Musk’s boxes.

This December 21, a hacker known as Green hacked the code from the latest Tesla Model 3 update and shared his findings on his Twitter account. According to the clues unearthed in the firmware, the American firm plans to release a new Model 3 equipped with a 100 kWh battery .

As a reminder, the Long Range version of the car must be satisfied with a 75 kWh battery. Thanks to this battery, the automobile benefits from a range of around 560 kilometers. In theory, a Model 3 with a 100 kWh battery should go up to around 650 km of autonomy.

A Ludicrous mode for the Tesla Model 3

That’s not all. Green also discovered traces in the Model 3 firmware announcing the arrival of Ludicrous mode . For those who are unaware of it, this mode allows a Tesla car to start like a real rocket. As a reminder, Elon Musk himself had promised the arrival of this mode on the Model 3 in 2016 on Twitter. It is therefore not really a surprise. It will be recalled that, for a few days, Tesla has already offered a paid update in order to boost the acceleration of the vehicle and go under the three-second mark to go from 0 to 100 km / h.
