The biggest leak in history is 8.4 billion passwords. Discovered by Cyber news researchers, it probably compiles old leaks into a 100 GB TXT file, titled RockYou2021, with 4.7 billion Internet users worldwide, potentially all users are affected.

You surely haven’t escaped this one. Cybernews security researchers have discovered what is possibly the biggest password leak in history.

The latter bundles as many as 8.4 billion credentials into a 100 GB TXT file. The author of the post posted it on a popular hacking forum.

This one is certainly not the origin of the hacking of all these accounts, preferring instead to compile previous leaks.

In the TXT file, entitled “RockYou2021” about the 2009 breach of the application of the same name, we find passwords between 6 and 20 characters, without any space or ASCII character. This breach is therefore of a completely different scale.

It is comparable in size to the Compilation of Many Breaches (COMB), which publicly revealed 3.2 billion passwords. To date, no known leak has reached this gargantuan size.

It’s Urge To Change Your Passwords!

In total, there are 4.7 billion Internet users worldwide. So with this leak containing almost twice as many passwords, potentially all users are concerned.

Especially since most of them use the same password on several different accounts. The number of corrupted personal data reaches astronomical figures.

We can only advise you to check if your password is part of the list. To do this, you can consult the HaveIPwnd database or the Cyber news database which will surely be more complete on the subject.

If your password does not appear immediately, try again after a few days, until the database is completely updated.

If unfortunately, you are one of the victims, you can follow our advice to find a strong password.
